The fourth Canadian apparel and textile procurement exhibition opened in Toronto International Exhibition Center on 19 local time. The exhibition will launch the "China brand fashion show" and "international fashion show" again.

The three day professional exhibition is sponsored by the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce and the Jiangsu Council for the promotion of trade, the JPC company of the United States, and the Canadian Apparel Federation. The exhibition has a total area of 8000 square meters, attracting exhibitors from 15 exhibitors from China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and so on. The total number of exhibitors is over 300. Among them, there are more than 100 exhibitors in China, with a total number of 189.

China's Ministry of Commerce has relied on this exhibition to set up a Chinese brand promotion project, featuring 8 famous Chinese fashion brands including Bosideng, red bean and so on, displaying the brand image of Chinese clothing to buyers from various countries. One of the highlights of this brand promotion project in China is that the 8 brands donated a number of clothing to Brands for Canada, a Canadian charity, to support local poor people.

Han Tao, Consul General of Toronto, who attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition, said that as Canada's fourth main categories of products imported from China, clothing and textiles have made important contributions to Sino Canadian economic and trade cooperation. With the change of Chinese people's lifestyle, Canadian high quality clothing brands can tap greater potential in the Chinese market. He also expects more Canadian businesses to find more business opportunities through the second China International Import fair to be held in Shanghai.

Zhang Xinmin, vice president of the China Textiles Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, said that the trade in clothing and textiles between China and Canada has maintained a good momentum of development in recent years. In 2018, bilateral textile and garment imports and exports totaled US $4 billion 660 million, an increase of 8.87% over the same period last year. This is of great significance in the current complex global trading environment.

Foreign and business officials from Mongolia, Bangladesh, Ukraine, Turkey, Garner, Peru and India also attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The Canadian apparel and textile procurement exhibition is the only professional textile and apparel Procurement Exhibition in Canada, and has gradually become the first choice for Chinese textile and garment enterprises to enter the Canadian market. Apart from the fashion show, more than 20 forums and lectures will be held during the exhibition.

China is currently the world's largest producer, exporter and consumer of textile and clothing. According to the China Apparel Association, the total output of clothing in China in 2018 was about 45 billion 600 million, about 6 times that of the world's total population.
