Many traders in the sugra region of India were affected by the epidemic. The local factories were closed from the weekend to full shutdown on April 28. The original plan was to start production on May 5. However, after the meeting on April 30, Gujarat Weaver Welfare Association decided to continue to close factories and stop production until May 15 to prevent the spread of infection.

In order to curb the spread of the new crown epidemic, the Cambodian government announced a 14 day blockade from April 15. However, the latest news yesterday (April 27) pointed out that the local government's new regulations, the suspension period will be extended by one week to May 5. The order calls for the suspension and closure of all non essential activities, the clothing, footwear and travel goods manufacturing industry is classified as non essential business, and several local garment factories are suspended.

The Cambodian Garment Manufacturers Association (GMAC) said that the blockade not only led to the interruption of the transportation of raw materials and finished products, but also affected some factories outside the blockade area because workers living in the blockaded area could not leave home to work. As the factory can not operate normally, GMAC added that some GMAC members may not be able to deliver goods according to the original schedule due to the failure of normal operation of the factory. All relevant stakeholders are urged to understand the special situation and not impose penalties on them. Cambodia has about 1000 garment, footwear and travel goods factories with an estimated 750000 employees.
