Troubled Textile Industry Is Not Optimistic Next Year.

At the just concluded "2008 international cotton cotton textile high level forum", the relevant experts believe that although the state has issued some support policies, the difficulties in the textile industry are still great, and the situation is not optimistic next year.

Yuan Gangming, a China and world economic researcher at Tsinghua University, said the macroeconomic environment is having an adverse effect on the textile industry. The appreciation of the renminbi has led to a decline in the growth of textile exports, and the RMB appreciation will further accelerate next year.

Robert Antsiaq, President of the global cotton information company, said that the global textile industry, including China, is facing double problems of increasing costs and falling textile prices, and customers are less and less affected by the decline in demand.

In the global textile market, China is facing five rival competitions, namely Vietnam, Kampuchea, Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.

The total volume of textile production of these rivals has increased rapidly, and the overall scale has now caught up with China.

Zhang Xian, Deputy Secretary General of the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, said that textile exports will be further troubled by trade disputes.

The US industry is calling for the current import monitoring measures to be extended to China from next year, namely, monitoring the import volume, amount and unit price of key commodities in China.

The EU hopes that the textile trade agreement will be relatively stable.
