大赛组委会对已经收到的作品，进行了认真初审，专家认为：整体设计水平有所提高，但令人耳目一新的作品几乎没有。另一方面，由于我国遇到了极为罕见的大地震，四川地区牵动了全国人民的心，同时做为中国的鞋类主要产地之一的四川参赛选手不能够按时提供作品，也影响了首届“祥缘杯”新新人类鞋样设计大赛的正常日程安排。为确实鼓励年轻设计师参与、圆满地完成本次设计大赛，世界服装鞋帽网经研究，慎重决定，将首届“祥缘杯”新新人类鞋样设计大赛的收稿日期适当延期。
