Spot Checks In Guangdong: Infant And Children'S Clothing Has A Low Pass Rate.

"61" before the children's day, the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of quality and technical supervision conducted special supervision and spot checks on infant and children's clothing products.

The results showed that the pass rate of clothing for infants and children was relatively low, and the unqualified items mainly focused on the composition and content of raw materials, pH value and so on, and no formaldehyde substandard products were found.

A total of 80 batches of infant and children clothing products produced by 78 enterprises in 9 regions, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Jiangmen, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Dongguan, Shantou and so on, were inspected. 57 batches of qualified products were tested, and the qualified rate of sampling batches of products was 71.3%.

Excluding only 4 batches of unqualified products, the qualified rate of internal quality was 76.3%, compared with the 48.3% batches of sampling batches in 2009, a 23 percentage point increase was achieved.

Unqualified items are: fiber content, pH value, color fastness to rubbing and marking 4.

Of the 33 batches of substandard products, 12 batches of products failed to qualify for fiber content.

The following three aspects are expressed: first, the 7 batch of measured fiber content is not consistent with the marked value, such as marking "100% cotton", and the measured result is "72% cotton 26.6% polyester 1.4% spandex".

Two, there are 3 batches of measured fibers which are not consistent with the names of the fiber components, such as marking "100% polyester", and the measured results are "100% nylon".

Three, there are 2 batches of products without fiber content identification.

Because consumers often choose clothing according to the content of the indicated fiber content, the fiber content is inconsistent or no fiber identification will directly damage the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.

The main reason for the failure is that the production enterprises have not established the inspection system of fabric purchase, or deliberately have to be inferior in order to reduce costs.

The pH value of the 8 batches of products exceeded the standard.

The pH value is an index reflecting the pH value of the articles. Because the surface of the human body is weakly acidic, the pH value of the clothing product is too high or too low, which may destroy the pH balance of the human skin and cause skin allergy or infection.

The main reason for the failure is that the production enterprises do not fully neutralize or wash the products in the process of production.

Therefore, it is suggested that consumers should wash and reuse before buying clothes.
