Chinese Clothing Goes To "Farewell To Meager Profit Era"
With the increasing risk of the euro exchange rate, Chinese clothing export enterprises once again come to the fork in the road of "farewell to meager profits". More than 30 Ningbo garment enterprises have chosen to take the initiative to open up the European market. They will appear in Paris in September for the 2010 China Textile and clothing trade exhibition (Paris).
The 100 euro has depreciated more than 170 yuan in just two months.
"Since March this year, the euro exchange rate has been in a downward trend. At the end of April, the euro to RMB exchange rate ratio is still 1: 10, and now it has reached 1: 8.3."
The head of a knitting enterprise told reporters that although hundreds of employees in the workshop are working on orders that are due to expire in June, it is still unknown whether the orders can make money.
"The European market is a market affected by the financial crisis in the global market. It is now deeply affected by sovereign debt. The uncertain factors are larger and the recovery period will be longer, but it will not be lost as the" base "of China's export clothing.
Recently, Gu Zheng, President of the Ningbo City Council of China's International Trade Promotion Association, said in an interview that the European market mechanism is sound, and the foundation is strong, and the demand is still enormous.
In the face of the rising risk of the euro exchange rate, some enterprises quietly converted to us dollar settlement, and some enterprises increased their quotations to European enterprises according to their own strength.
But fundamentally speaking, China's garment export enterprises once again came to the "farewell to the era of small profits" fork in the road.
Therefore, in order to realize the international branding strategy, Ningbo clothing enterprises choose to take the initiative to attack and actively explore the European market.
There will be more than 30 Ningbo garment enterprises in Paris on the 2010 China Textile and clothing trade exhibition (Paris), which will be held in September.
Gu Zhengwei said that in the Ningbo enterprises participating in the law exhibition, there were 15 enterprises from the knitted streets in Xiangshan, Ningbo, and other garment enterprises in other parts of the country. The main products were men's wear, women's wear, children's wear, western style clothes and so on.
For the Ningbo branch of the China Council for the promotion of trade, it is not the first time for the organization to take part in overseas exhibitions.
"Ningbo is a large garment market and a large garment export city. The global fashion exhibition overseas accounts for about 1/4 of the total volume of our business. Every year, we display an area of about 3600 square meters at the two clothing festival in Hongkong. It also exhibited an exhibition area of nearly 600 square meters at the Dusseldorf clothing exhibition in Germany."
Gu Zheng said that cooperation with the China Textile Association of the International Trade Promotion Association is the first time. The cooperation is aimed at combining strong forces and complementing each other's strengths, and jointly building an overseas professional textile and clothing exhibition with its own brand, so as to create a good platform for Ningbo's garment enterprises to open up the international market.
"The European market is a mature market after all. Although there are many unfavorable factors at present, we must take the initiative to attack the crisis and make efforts to expand the European market."

As one of the contractors of the 2010 China Textile and clothing trade exhibition (Paris), the Ningbo Council of the China Council for the promotion of international trade will also liaise with Paris related textile and garment industry associations and organize Ningbo related interested enterprises to engage in joint meetings with foreign enterprises.
According to the introduction, through such activities, one is to explore the establishment of R & D marketing branches in Europe, further improve the technological innovation ability of Ningbo's knitting garment industry and broaden the international marketing channels; two, the feasibility of introducing foreign brands to operate in the country or cooperate with foreign fashion research and development companies to promote brand operation, aiming at improving the brand operation ability of Ningbo knitting industry; three, relying on the industrial foundation of the famous knitted city in Xiangshan, Ningbo, actively inviting and attracting foreign capital, and improving the technical content of knitted fabrics through the cooperation with foreign fabric enterprises or introducing advanced foreign fabric technology, so as to enhance the competitiveness of the knitting industry of Ningbo in the international market.

2009 China Textile and clothing trade exhibition (Paris) has 14871 professional spectators from France, Britain, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Holland, the United States, Poland and other countries, of which more than 30% are clothing wholesalers / retailers, 31% are agents, and about 21% are European clothing manufacturers.
According to statistics, more than 60% of the audience are company or enterprise decision-makers, effectively ensuring the trade effectiveness of exhibitors.
