The environmental protection agency says the average American throws 10 pounds of socks, jeans, shirts, sheets and so on each year.

New York will implement the clothing recycling scheme in September, with the aim of making clothes and clothes as convenient as possible, placing 50 collection boxes in all busy areas.

In 2008, New York filled 190 thousand tons of textiles into landfills.

An interview with TracyFeldman, 25, said: "I moved 3 times in 5 years, and I could only throw away my clothes every time I moved.

It's really troublesome to pick up these clothes and look for the recycle bin in the city. If I have a collection box near my house, I will send the clothes there. "

New York accepted a bid from a non-profit company and signed a 10~15 contract with the successful bidder.

Goodwill international industry company is one of the companies participating in bidding. The company is very interested in this project and thinks it is very creative.

Goodwill international industries also conducted a survey of 600 people in the US and Canada. More than half of the respondents said they would not take more than 10 minutes to donate their clothes.

Not all clothes can be recycled, and some worn jeans or shoes may not be recycled, but many companies can think of ways to use these clothes for other purposes. Only 5% of the recycled clothing is eventually thrown into the landfill.
