Such discussions are mainly focused on achieving the goal of loose money through more treasury bonds procurement and the steps to improve inflation expectations.
Some of the new approaches discussed by the Fed officials at the meeting include a clearer target for inflation.
The ideas discussed include achieving the goal of determining the price level rather than the inflation rate itself or by focusing on inflation adjusted GDP.
Fed officials did not propose a new inflation rate in their regular meeting in September 21st, but made a downward adjustment from 2010 to 2011.
