The Ministry of Health announced the amendments to the dangerous goods act (HPA), which will increase.

Baby bed

Cradle and cradle bed safety for infants and young children.

The main laws and regulations for cribs, cradles and cradle beds

change

Include the following:

By eliminating the difference between standard crib and portable crib, we expand the definition of Cribs and include independent cradle beds in the scope of regulations, including cradle beds and their packaging, labelling, structure and properties (flammability, edge height, cut and extrusion risks, etc.).

There are no supporting points for infants to climb out of the crib and fall to the ground to cause injury.

It includes the requirement that manufacturers or importing must maintain at least 3 years of sales, promotion and testing of these products.

For more details, please refer to Canada's Ministry of health's information page: modifications to cribs, cradles and cradle beds regulations.

The full text of the amendment can be obtained from the Ministry of health of Canada.

In addition, Canada is seeking feedback on these amendments.

Other information on the safety of the crib can be found in the information page of the Canadian Ministry of health: baby bed safety.
