Vietnam Strengthens Cooperation With Denmark In Textile And Clothing Industry

A seminar on "Vietnam Danish textile and garment industry partnership" was held.
The seminar aims to promote Vietnam Denmark's relationship with trade and investment and open up opportunities for cooperation in the textile and garment industry.
Tran Tuan Anh, Vice Minister of Vietnam's Ministry of industry and trade, attended the seminar.
At the symposium, the Danish ambassador to Vietnam, John Nielsen, said that the seminar is the first step in the long-term cooperation between the two countries, especially in the textile and clothing industry.
Tran Tuan Anh, deputy minister, said that trade between Vietnam and Denmark was in surplus.
In 2010, Vietnam exported 195 million dollars to Denmark, mainly textiles and clothing products, footwear and consumer goods.

The import from Denmark is US $116 million.
In the first 2 months of 2011, Vietnam's exports to Denmark increased by 59.5% over the same period last year.
At present, the textile and garment industry is playing an important role in Vietnam Danish economic cooperation.
In 2010 alone, Vietnam's textile and clothing exports to Denmark amounted to US $64 million 800 thousand, accounting for 33.2% of Vietnam's total exports to Denmark, up 60.5% from 2009.
Vice Minister Tran Tuan Anh also said that the Vietnamese government has always been concerned about and supported enterprises that abide by WTO commitments.
At the same time, he expressed the hope that Danish enterprises would take part in it.
