The Xinjiang Museum and the largest textile professional museum in China - the Chinese Silk Museum has been officially started in the protection of textile relics and scientific research cooperation.

Xinjiang museum director Hou Shixin said, "textiles."

Cultural Relic

The material is special, and is an organic cultural relic. After thousands of years, it has been very fragile and difficult to preserve.

The scientific and systematic protection measures for textile relics are aimed at prolonging the life span of cultural relics as far as possible.

The collection of textiles in the Xinjiang Museum has accounted for more than half of the number of antique textiles in ancient China. Over the years, the Xinjiang Museum has done a lot of work in cleaning, finishing, protecting, and researching textile relics, and has made some achievements. However, due to many factors, there is still a gap between domestic and foreign counterparts in terms of hardware equipment, testing and analysis of textile heritage protection.

The museum's cooperation is the need for joint research and protection of textile relics.

Zhao Feng, director of the China Silk Museum, came to the Xinjiang to attend the opening ceremony. He said that the establishment of the Xinjiang workstation of the key scientific research base of the State Cultural Relics Bureau, the protection of textile relics, is also part of the implementation of the Cultural Heritage Bureau of the China Silk Museum and the Cultural Relics Bureau of the Chinese Culture Bureau.

He said that in the next 5 years of cooperation, the Chinese silk museum will train 20 textile heritage restorers for the Xinjiang Museum, while helping the Xinjiang museum to improve the hardware facilities for the protection of textile relics and improve the protection level of textile relics.

It is understood that the unique geographical and climatic conditions made Xinjiang one of the most concentrated and well preserved ancient textiles in the world, with large quantities of textile relics, rich texture and rich variety.

The Museum of Xinjiang has over 3000 pieces of textile relics, including silk, wool, cotton, linen, brocade, and so on. It includes clothes, trousers, skirts, caps, boots, coverings, blankets, gloves, socks, comb bags, sachets, wool cloth fans, pillows and so on. These textile relics are important historical materials for studying the politics, economy and culture of Xinjiang and even the whole country, and are also precious historical materials for studying the history of Chinese nationalities and Sino foreign relations. They are of high historical value, fine arts and scientific research value.

Such as "five stars out of orient China" tapestry and other textiles are among them.

The Chinese Silk Museum, located on the West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, is the largest museum of textiles in China and the largest silk museum in the world.

This museum has been committed to the protection and research of textile relics, and has carried out a lot of fruitful research and practical activities in this field.

In November 2010, the State Administration of cultural heritage confirmed that the key research base for textile heritage conservation should be located at the China Silk Road Museum.
