Fashion Week Fashion In Cape Town

South Africa's 2011 Cape Down In the Cape Town fashion week, a campaign called Wear Only ZA (WOZA) is expected to enhance the design fashion industry in South Africa.


The event, planned by Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC), funded by the economic development and Tourism Department of the Western Cape provincial government of South Africa, hopes to encourage more people to buy locally made clothes in Cape Town.


CTFC executive director Bryan Ramkilawan said, "the design and manufacture of South African fashion requires an exhibition to show our talents. Ebullience "


Through WOZA activities, designers can display their brand in the online fashion community in South Africa, and the long-term goal is to establish a fashion store and a large retail partnership.


Alan Winde, director of the financial development and Tourism Department of South Africa, said: "since the abolition of the global textile trade quota system since 2005, South Africa's clothing and textile industry has lost 80 thousand jobs and is competing with sweatshops. South Africa's textile industry is in a difficult environment."

CTFC members include representatives from retail chains such as Woolworths, Foschini, Monviso Knitwear, Cape Peninsula University of technology, South African garment and textile labor union, government, and digital fashion designers.
