The India leather export Commission statistics show that in the second quarter of 2007 (4-6 months), the total export volume of India leather industry reached 296 billion rupees (equivalent to US $715 million), an increase of 281 billion rupees (equivalent to us dollar 618 million US dollars) in the same period last year. The growth rate of leather products increased by 5.3%. from the US $155 million to US $187 million, increasing by 20.6%; leather shoes increased from 197 million US dollars to 226 million dollars; the number of shoes components increased from US dollars to US dollars; leather clothing increased from US dollars to US dollars, and leather products increased from US dollars to US dollars, an increase of 14.8%.
