Long term shortage of talents in Quanzhou

The textile and footwear industry is one of the five dominant traditional industries in Quanzhou.

In 2010, Quanzhou garment enterprises accounted for 70% of the total output of the province, and the output of sports shoes was in the domestic market.

"The three colleges and universities jointly create a fashion Institute, which is a new mode of coordinating the construction of applied clothing professionals between universities and local enterprises in Quanzhou. It is a successful practice of integration of production, teaching and research, and is also a new measure for talent training in Colleges and universities to adapt and serve the needs of regional economic development."

Quanzhou teachers college is a comprehensive institution upgraded from undergraduate course to undergraduate course.

Zhang Zhou, deputy secretary of the Party committee of the Institute, analyzed: "the teachers' college has certain advantages in Quanzhou, but compared with the old undergraduate universities in Xiamen University and Fuda University, the traditional basic disciplines are dwarfed. If Quanzhou normal college wants to achieve leapfrog development, it must find its own position and find new space from the development of Quanzhou's regional economy."

In line with the train of thought of "basing ourselves on Quanzhou and serving Quanzhou", Quanzhou Teachers College chose to join hands with Quanzhou Liming Vocational University and Quanzhou textile and garment college in Shishi.

What the three colleges and universities have in common is that in the past years of practice, a more complete specialized layout of clothing and specialty has been established, which basically covers all aspects of the shoe and clothing industry from materials, design, technology, production management, logistics management to marketing trade, and has more complete experimental training conditions for garment design and engineering laboratories, and more advanced clothing design equipment.

"This time led by our school to set up a clothing Institute, we will integrate the advantageous resources of three universities and 10 Quanzhou brand enterprises, and strive to train applied high-level professionals for local shoe and clothing enterprises."

Huang Zijie, President of Quanzhou Teachers College, said.

The establishment of the clothing Institute of Quanzhou Teachers College has created a completely different mode of talent training, that is, training talents according to the needs of enterprises.

On the day of the establishment of the Institute of clothing, the three sides of the Institute and the co operative school signed training agreements with 10 well-known local shoe and clothing enterprises in Quanzhou, including seven wolves.

The three school will carry out personalized training according to the needs of enterprise orders.

Schools and enterprises will work out joint personnel training programs and carry out all-round and close cooperation in terms of teachers, teaching conditions, training and learning.

It is understood that the Quanzhou Normal University garment Institute is a two level undergraduate college, and strive to begin enrollment in 2012.
