Imported

Canada's economic growth is on the edge of recession due to the weakening of market demand due to the financial crisis. Canada's textile and clothing imports may decline in the coming months.

In contrast to the decline in textile demand in the United States and Latin America, imports of textiles and clothing in Canada were still very active, with imports of $866 million in September, an increase of 16% over the same period. Imports of knitted / woven garments and textiles increased by 14-18%, with a total increase of 22.7% from Bangladesh, Kampuchea, China, the United States and Vietnam.

The cumulative import volume in 1-9 months increased by 9.5% over the same period last year.

Canadian imports of textiles and clothing will continue to grow.
