Oregon has signed a non-toxic child products act. This bill has drawn up a highly concerned list of chemicals and asked American producers.

Dealers and distributors declare the substances contained in specific children's products, and call for phasing out these highly concerned chemicals in children's products.

The bill will take effect in January 1, 2016.

The products covered by the bill are as follows: the following children's products and their accessible and non accessible parts:

A product designed or intended to help children suck, grow, relax, eat or drink.

Spin

and

footwear

product

Child seat

Children cosmetics

Children jewelry

Toys

As soon as this Law comes into effect, the Oregon Health Authority will establish a list of chemicals that are highly concerned but not necessarily limited, including 66 highly concerned chemicals published in Washington state.

The list of substances will be evaluated and amended every 3 years. Each amendment will add no more than 5 chemicals.

If Washington state's highly concerned list of chemical substances (CHCC) or other federal and state related lists are adjusted, Oregon may also examine and evaluate the readjustment of content and consider the same adjustment; if a chemical substance is not used in children's products, the Oregon Health Authority may also consider removing it from highly concerned chemicals.

Children's products: any product that is mainly used or sold for children under the age of 12 and below.
