Data show that in 2012 1-6, China's scale leather, fur and products and footwear industry completed 493 billion 759 million yuan of industrial output value, an increase of 14.58% over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped 11.68 percentage points over the same period last year. In 1-5 months, the gross profit of leather, fur and products and footwear industry in China's scale was 22 billion 487 million yuan, an increase of 20.35% over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 12.49 percentage points over the same period last year.
The analysis shows that this is the adverse impact of domestic and international price fluctuations, low international demand and rising labor costs.
According to WTO's latest report on world trade, China has surpassed Germany to become the world's first export power and exports account for 10.4% of the world's total exports.
However, in 2012 1-6, China exported 4 million 80 thousand leather garments, 210 million US dollars, down 28.9% and 23.4% respectively compared with the same period last year. In the same period, the export of semi finished leather in China was 4253 tons and 15 million 810 thousand US dollars, down 24.5% and 8.2% respectively.
