As of October 2016, the total retail sales of social consumer goods amounted to 269601 billion yuan, up 10.3% over the same period last year, and the growth rate dropped by 0.28 percentage points over the same period last year. The growth rate in October was only 10%, down 0.7 percentage points from 10.7% in September.
The year-on-year growth rate of 100 and 50 large retail enterprises also slowed down significantly.

The operating income of 21 companies in SW department stores increased by 4.30%, 6.68% and 16.58% respectively in 2016Q1, Q2 and Q3.
From the perspective of net profit, profitability continued to deteriorate. Net profit of 2016Q1 and Q2 fell 8.55% and 24.68% respectively.
The revenue growth of 8 companies in the SW supermarket sector slowed down, while 2016Q1, Q2 and Q3 grew by 6.05%, 2.63% and 4.59% respectively.
2016Q1 net profit fell 19.36% year-on-year.
Electricity supplier B2C accounted for a substantial increase, e-commerce generation operation industry promising.
Consumption upgrading, online retail account for a substantial increase in total retail sales of consumer goods, increasing proportion of B2C and continuous offline shutdown of offline stores in recent years have prompted more and more brands to start touching the net, and have begun to open their official flagship store on Tmall, Jingdong and other platforms.

Survey data released by the National Retail Federation on 27 showed that the total retail sales in the US were about $44 billion 500 million this Thanksgiving weekend, a slight decrease compared with the same period last year.

On the same day, the group also predicted that the number of shoppers participating in the largest online shopping festival "Internet Monday" was 122 million, slightly higher than last year's 121 million.
