The United States Department of agriculture's Agricultural Outlook Forum, held in February 21st, estimated that in February 21st, the US cotton planting area was 12 million 500 thousand acres, a decrease of 9% over the same period last year. Previously, NCC's forecast was 13 million acres, down 5.5% from a year ago.
