Maintenance Skills Of Down Garments

The days are fast approaching April. Down jackets are usually very thick, and many people only wash them once a year. So it's time to wash down jackets that have worn all winter.

1. Must be hand washed
There is a small label printed with maintenance and washing instructions on the inside of down jackets. Careful people will find that 90% of down jackets are marked to be washed by hand. The down jacket washed and dried by machine and twisted can easily lead to uneven thickness of filler, which will make the clothes out of shape and affect the beauty and warmth retention.
2. Rinse at 30 ℃
First, soak the down jacket in cold water for 20 minutes to fully wet the inside and outside of the down jacket. Dissolve the detergent in 30 ℃ warm water, soak the down jacket in it for a quarter of an hour, and then gently brush it with a soft bristle brush. Warm water should also be used for rinsing, which can help the detergent to be fully dissolved in water and make the down jacket rinse cleaner.
3. The concentration of detergent should not be too high
Usually, it is advisable to put 4-5 tablespoons of washing powder into two basins of water. If the concentration is too high, it is difficult to rinse clean. The residual washing powder in the down will affect the fluffy degree of the down and greatly reduce the warmth retention.

Maintenance of down jacket

1. Washing down clothes: use a small amount of neutral detergent or detergent, mix it with 35 ℃ warm water, soak the clothes completely in the washing liquid for 15 minutes, then put the clothes on the washboard surface, brush the dirt with a soft bristle brush in turn, squeeze out the washing liquid, and press and rinse with hands in clean water. Every time of rinsing, put the clothes in the washing machine dewatering bucket to dehydrate once, generally washing for 2-3 times. If there is no washing machine to dehydrate, it can be put in the net bag to drain the water to avoid deformation when drying.
2. When collecting down jackets after winter, the down jackets should be sealed with a good breathable packaging bag and stored in a dry place to prevent mildew.
3. When washing, pay attention that the water temperature should not be too high. Choose mild neutral washing products to soak the down jacket. Remember to vigorously rub or twist, pull, pull, and throw. After washing, gently squeeze the water out of the down jacket, and then use a larger dry towel to suck the water on it.
4. When drying, do not expose the down jacket to the sun for quick drying, but dry it in a dry and ventilated place. Note: Pat gently every few hours to make the dried down fluffy, which can also reduce the down caking and let other wet and wet down dry as soon as possible.
