In October, more than 37 million mu of cotton have been harvested on a large scale in Xinjiang, the western province of China. Cotton production here accounts for more than 80% of China's total cotton production, and is an important cotton production area in the world. Cotton farmers who are closely related to this white crop are busy. They are looking forward to a year's hard work in return for a warm heart.

From time to time, the truck fleet on the south of Mian Shan drove by. These cotton pickers were transported to the cotton fields around Tarim basin for harvesting. More and more cotton farmers in Xinjiang will be liberated by mechanized and efficient harvesting methods. They will no longer have to bow down and pick up cotton one by one.

In addition to large cotton pickers, there are also plant protection UAV teams that gather in the fields to serve cotton farmers. In recent days, hundreds of agricultural UAVs are flying over the cotton field in Yuli County, Xinjiang, where cotton planting area is about one million mu. A technical team of an enterprise in Guangzhou instructed farmers to defoliate cotton, improve cotton quality, and make farmers get more income with the same yield.

Statistics Bureau of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region announced that cotton planting area in Xinjiang this year is 37.6138 million mu, including 16.171 million mu in southern Xinjiang.

In 2019, Xinjiang's cotton output will reach 5.02 million tons, accounting for 84.9% of China's total cotton output. More than half of the farmers in Xinjiang are engaged in cotton production. Cotton has become the main source of income for cotton farmers in Xinjiang, especially in southern Xinjiang Uygur inhabited areas. The income of cotton and its downstream processing products is related to the livelihood and life of millions of Xinjiang farmers.

In Bachu County of Kashgar Prefecture, reheman reyimu, a 55 year old cotton farmer, and his parents all depend on cotton for their livelihood. He recalled that in 1985, his 10 mu cotton income was 1000 yuan a year, and this year, his 30 mu cotton planting income was about 100000 yuan.

The increase in cotton planting benefits from the continuous teaching and promotion of breeding, water saving, disease and insect pests and other advanced technologies by local governments in Xinjiang, which has led to the continuous improvement of farmers' cotton planting level.

In the upstream and downstream links of cotton, China Cotton Group Corporation, China's largest comprehensive service provider of cotton industry, implemented the order mode of "ginning plant + cooperative + farmer household" in Xinjiang, helping Xinjiang cotton farmers resist the risk of market price fluctuation and ensure income increase by means of guaranteed purchase and dividend, land equity cooperation, etc.

How do farmers transport cotton? Because Xinjiang cotton needs to be transported to many city stations in central and eastern China, China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd. organizes special cotton trains in various train depots in southern Xinjiang, and uses the method of "consolidation, sub packaging and re assembling" to meet the transportation requirements of different orders, which benefits farmers, processing enterprises and logistics enterprises. From January to July, Xinjiang Railway overcame the impact of the epidemic and delivered 2.6769 million tons of cotton, with a year-on-year increase of 83.18%.

In order to help cotton farmers and small and micro enterprises to solve their financial difficulties, Xinjiang Rural Credit Cooperative Association launched a variety of small loan products. During the cotton spring cultivation this year, a total of 58.5 billion yuan of loans were issued. In Xinhe County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang, farmer yusufu jiapal applied for a 100000 yuan poverty alleviation discount loan in the county's rural credit cooperatives. His family's planting and breeding industry developed, and his life improved significantly.
