"Little Tailor" Immersed In Batik World

On August 10, Cheng Hao (right) and batik painters exchange the sewing effect of the newly designed batik fashion at NInghang batik workshop in Danzhai County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province. Cheng Hao, a 42 year old Harbin native, has been working in fashion design and won a gold medal in an international design competition. By chance, Cheng Hao first came into close contact with the Miao nationality batik, a national intangible cultural heritage art, and initiated the idea of combining modern fashion design with traditional batik patterns to make fashion. In 2017, Cheng Hao came to Danzhai County, Guizhou Province, where the Miao batik was mainly inherited. He was immersed in the batik world. The painters of the batik workshop called him "the little tailor of the batik workshop". The exquisite patterns of Miao traditional batik gave him inspiration in his design. In recent years, the batik fashion designed by Cheng Hao not only had a great influence on the traditional "batik circle" of Danzhai, but also appeared in more than a dozen fashion shows at home and abroad such as Beijing International Fashion Week and London Fashion week. Cheng Hao said that batik makes his design more soul. Next, he will take his batik fashion to a bigger "show stage", so that the treasures hidden in the mountains of Guizhou will shine in the world.
