Association Trends: Shantou Clothing Association Went To Huludao Swimwear Industry Cluster To Carry Out Exchanges

In order to strengthen the linkage and exchange with Huludao swimwear industry cluster and explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two textile and clothing industries, On July 13, during the 2024 Northeast Asia (Xingcheng) International Swimwear Expo, Weng Chuangjie, chairman of Shantou Textile and Clothing Industry Association, led a team to visit Huludao Swimwear Industry Cluster and had in-depth exchanges with Xingcheng Swimwear Industry Association.

Huludao is the world's largest swimwear supply chain base, accounting for a quarter of the national swimwear output. The surface accessories produced in Shantou are highly suitable for swimwear production, and the upstream and downstream industrial chains of both sides have good prospects for cooperation. In order to further understand the industrial development of the two sides and explore cooperation space, the two sides held a symposium on textile industry clusters, Weng Chuangjie, Chairman of Shantou Textile and Garment Industry Association, Zhang Dongyuan, Chairman of Xingcheng Swimwear Industry Association, Xu Guoqiang, Secretary General of China Knitting Industry Association Attended the exchange meeting.

At the meeting, both sides introduced the basic situation and future development plan of the textile and clothing industry respectively. President Weng Chuangjie introduced the planning and construction progress of the four major projects. He said that with the attention and support of Shantou Municipal Party Committee and Shantou Municipal Government, the four major projects were fully implemented. Among them, the construction of Shantou International Textile City has progressed smoothly since it was started last July. The first phase of the fabric market has been fully capped, and a delivery ceremony will be held in September. It is expected to open after the Spring Festival next year. In addition, with the support and participation of various industrial clusters across the country, Chaoshan Fashion Expo has been successfully held for three consecutive sessions. On behalf of the Association, President Weng warmly invited President Zhang Dongyuan to lead a team to Shantou to participate in the delivery ceremony and the fourth Chaoshan Fashion Expo, to carry out industrial exchanges and promote cooperation between the two sides.

In the morning of the same day, the 2024 Northeast Asia (Xingcheng) International Swimwear Expo was grandly opened, and Shantou Textile and Clothing Industry Association was invited to participate.

At the forum on high-quality development of swimwear, President Weng took the stage to share as a guest. He said that Shantou is one of the important textile and clothing industry bases in China, with a complete industrial chain. With the high-quality development of Xingcheng swimwear industry and the diversification of swimwear market demand, Shantou's textile and clothing industry is also constantly carrying out technological innovation and market adaptation. It is hoped that this linkage can provide various support for the swimwear industry.

On the day of the event, Huang Hanchu, executive vice president of Shantou Textile and Clothing Industry Association, signed a contract with Xingcheng Swimwear Industry Association on behalf of Shantou textile industry cluster.
