Iran's Leather Exports Increase Sharply

The Vice Minister of the Ministry of textile and leather industry at the opening ceremony of the third Leather Industry Machinery Exhibition held in Mashhad recently said that Iran's leather exports amounted to US $120 million in the first two months of this year, compared with 85 million US dollars in the same period last year, up 40% over the same period last year.

At present, Iran mainly exports low value leather raw materials, and the government will take measures to encourage enterprises to produce leather goods such as leather bags, leather shoes and leather garments with high added value, so as to increase the profits of leather industry.
