capacity

In 2010, China accounted for less than 4% of the total production capacity of chemical fiber, but it is an important raw material for textile industry. Its capacity has maintained an average 25%~30% growth rate over the past 10 years.

Such a growth rate meets the growing demand on the one hand, and brings on the other.

enterprise

Shrinking profits.

In a complex and volatile situation, enterprises are worried about the rapid growth of production capacity, the uncertainty of expanding demand and the shrinking profit margins.

Capacity value is not worth worrying about.

It can be said that in recent years, the capacity of the chemical fiber industry has never been stopped.

industrial yarn

The same is true of the industry.

Over the past few days, the China Chemical Fiber Association has organized a forum on innovation, upgrading and development of industrial fibers in Yichang, Hubei, on the occasion of the annual meeting of the Specialized Committee.

When it comes to the problem of rapid growth in production capacity, some representatives are excited and several times at the scene.

Only from the ordinary high strength polyester industrial yarn, the processing area has dropped to about half of the original.

Reporters couldn't help thinking of what they attended two years ago.

Polyester fiber

The industrial silk conference is as tense as the atmosphere.

At that time, Jiangsu Hengli Group was building a 200 thousand ton / year polyester industrial yarn project. The industry regarded it as a "monster", compared to the "unfallen boots" and seriously worried about the imbalance between supply and demand of the market after its commissioning.

However, perhaps this sense of anxiety has stimulated the potential of pformation and upgrading of industrial silk enterprises, or perhaps the steady recovery of the world economy has strongly supported demand. In short, the market of polyester industrial yarn in 2010 has not been confused by the "mess" of the 200 thousand tons of new production capacity, and the production and sales of enterprises are much better than expected.

Wang Yuping, Deputy Secretary General of the association, told reporters that with the rapid development of production capacity, the market pattern of polyester industrial yarn has changed, but the competitive advantage of large scale mainstream manufacturers still exists.

If the overall profit of the industry in 2010 is still good, some of the mainstream manufacturers will have considerable profits due to their scale advantages, high product differentiation rate and good export conditions.

"It can be seen that scale and differentiation are still effective ways to maintain the competitive edge of Dacron industrial yarn enterprises."

Is there any excess capacity of polyester industrial yarn?

There are basically two kinds of views in this field: one is that production capacity is certainly surplus, even if downstream demand increases, compared with the speed of expansion of industrial silk production capacity, it is nothing more than "wizardry". The direct consequence of this expansion rate is that the profit margins of enterprises are compressed and business difficulties increase. Another point is that capacity expansion and relative surplus capacity and relative shortage are the normal behavior in the market economy. This is determined by the profit seeking nature of capital, and the large-scale development of many years will reduce the production cost and bring down the price of products, which is in line with the law of economic development.

However, these two views are based on a consensus that the expansion of capacity should be based on the full investigation of demand and the positioning of market segments, without considering the blind expansion of market capacity and overcoming long-term development space in a very short time.

Go to a wider field of industrial use.

Some people have dubbed the price of polyester industrial yarn as "the price of Chinese cabbage". It is a satire for the industry to sell such a product with its own diversity.

This argument may be biased, but it reflects the voice of Dacron industrial yarn Enterprises: when competition is intensifying, the value of products must be improved, otherwise, the survival is still worrying.

Then, where is the feasible way to enhance the value?

Jiang Shicheng, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering, gave an answer: to meet the domestic demand in a wider range of industrial textiles.

Jiang Shicheng believes that China's chemical fiber industry is currently facing double competition, a monopoly and blockade from developed countries at the high end of the industrial chain, and another competition from developing countries at the low end of the industrial chain, which will inevitably exacerbate trade frictions.

With the pfer of the world's Dacron industrial yarn to China, its consumption center has also been pferred to China.

To this end, in the domestic field of industrial textiles to open up a broader market, and develop more value-added products for them, can effectively alleviate friction, and enhance the profitability of enterprises.

Many industrial enterprises of polyester industry are interested in the industry of textile industry, such as "pipe up the sky, lower the pipe, and the middle pipe air". However, too many fields are crossed and too diverse, which makes the enterprises somewhat confused and unable to figure out where to start.

Li Lingshen, President of China Industrial Textiles Association, suggested that we should make a detailed and in-depth study of a certain field.

For example, a foreign enterprise noticed that the friction generated by the submarine when it was close to the ground was very severe. It often damaged the relevant parts, and specifically studied materials with stronger resistance than friction. Finally, an irreplaceable product was developed and created considerable benefits.

According to Li Lingshen, at present, industrial textiles are divided into 15 + 1 categories, which are widely used in many fields abroad, but in many areas of the country, permeability is still low. For example, doctors wear surgical gowns, only 20% of them are disposable industrial textiles, and others use conventional fabrics. For example, bag type dust removal materials in thermal power plants, the proportion of domestic applications is far below the international level. An important reason is that the quality control of domestic fiber is unstable, and the life of dust bags is only about 1 years, while the international standard life is 4 years or more.

He reminds us that enterprises who want to seek greater development in the field of industrial textiles should ensure the professionalism and stability of technology.

For the difference between traditional fiber and industrial fiber, Wang Huaping, President of Donghua University Research Institute, thinks that traditional fibers are basically concerned about mechanical properties and stability of quality, and industrial fiber has strong expertise on this basis, which requires fiber and water enterprises to carry out closer cooperation with the downstream.

He also believes that after Japan's strong earthquake, the "disaster economy" will be fully reflected. Japan's reconstruction needs a lot of industrial textile materials, which will greatly promote the development of related industries. Domestic enterprises should always pay attention to the direction and opportunities of technological progress.

Breaking through traditional values

In the past two years, the world famous textile equipment manufacturer, orris Barmag, devoted a lot of efforts to the WINGS (winding integrated wire guide).

The WINGS system sets the guide roller and entanglement component to the winding machine, which improves the output and efficiency. The whole system can save about 35% energy. This technology has aroused widespread concern in the chemical fiber industry, and is considered to be an important technology to reduce polyester polyester production cost in the future.

The company official told reporters that the first step was to apply WINGS to POY production, and the second step was applied to FDY production. In the future, it could be applied to many other varieties, and the equipment delivery date has been discharged until 2015.

He admits that the pioneering spirit of many Chinese polyester industrial yarn enterprises is admirable, and the industry has enormous potential.

The technological progress of domestic engineering equipment enterprises has also injected new impetus to the development of the industry.

The polyester liquid phase tackifier technology developed by Shanghai polyyou chemical industry and Zhejiang ancient fiber road has been established in some enterprises. The technology will create conditions for further scale and low-cost production of related industries, and is conducive to the upgrading of product quality and added value.

The twisting equipment of China's Yichang textile machinery has already had the basic condition of reducing the energy consumption of 30%.

While the profit margins are shrinking, enterprises pay close attention to advanced technology and equipment to reduce costs, improve product quality and add value. On the other hand, they begin to reflect on domestic marketing methods and values.

The reporter once asked the person in charge of an industrial silk enterprise: "is it reasonable for the current industrial yarn price to be satisfied?"

He replied, "dissatisfied but reasonable."

According to him, the price of polyester industrial yarn exported to foreign countries is higher than that in China. He believes that the competition in the domestic market is too intense, so there is "some confusion".

He also pointed out that under the background of large-scale capacity expansion, it is difficult to raise the price of industrial yarn to a more reasonable position.

In fact, reporters have learned that downstream enterprises are not happy because of the low price of raw materials, instead they are subject to customers, because customers will directly decide the price of products according to the price of raw materials.

The reporter asked another industry expert: "what is the feasibility of talking about the brand in the domestic textile raw material industry?

Where is the breakthrough point? "

The expert said that in the current situation of supply exceeding demand, raw material enterprises are most concerned about survival, and have not risen to the height of brand and modern marketing system.

"This requires a long-term process, perhaps in the past two years, the full release of capacity, the industry's new round of shuffling is coming, there will be a different situation."

Ye Yongmao, chief expert consultant of China Chemical Fiber Association, has repeatedly urged the industry to build a "three-dimensional marketing system", so that good products can sell good prices.

At present, some enterprises have realized the importance of this problem and made some preliminary attempts. Some enterprises have tasted the sweetness of brand effect.

But this is far from enough, because the connotation of brand is far more than stable product quality and quick reaction.

Modern values also need to be thoroughly practiced in polyester industrial yarn and the entire chemical fiber industry.
