On November 21, the fourth enlarged meeting of the third board of directors of the Geotechnical Building Materials Branch of China Industrial Textile Industry Association was held in Tai'an, Shandong Province.

Nie Songlin, Chairman of the Geotechnical Building Materials Branch of the China Association for the Middle Class, will be the annual work report of the Geotechnical Building Materials Branch in 2023/2024. According to statistics, the total fiber processing volume of China's industrial textile industry will reach 20.341 million tons in 2023, up 3.8% year on year. Among them, the fiber processing volume of geotextiles was 1.383 million tons, up 5.5% year on year; The fiber processing volume of construction textiles was 878000 tons, down 1% year on year. At present, there are more than 1200 land industry and construction textile production enterprises in China, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises. In 2023, the total assets of 11 sample enterprises of raw materials and equipment accessories decreased by 3.6% year on year, the main business income decreased by 8.2% year on year, the total profit decreased by 37.8% year on year, the R&D investment decreased by 5.1%, and the number of R&D personnel increased by 3.9% year on year.

Nie Songlin said that although the development of the geotechnical construction materials industry faces great challenges and pressures, it is a multidisciplinary and cross sectoral industry, involving water conservancy, transportation, ecological environment, housing, urban and rural construction and other fields. It plays an important role in national infrastructure construction and environmental protection, and is one of the core elements supporting China's huge infrastructure projects. In the past year, the branch has gone deep into industry research, built a technical exchange platform, strengthened standardization construction, promoted the docking of industrial chain applications, and effectively guided the healthy development of the industry. He proposed that the geotechnical construction materials industry should further stabilize the industry growth, promote technological innovation, and promote the green transformation and development of the geotechnical industry in the future.

At the meeting, Zhu Xiusen, vice president and secretary-general of the Association, introduced the candidates for the third council of the branch. Xiang Feng, the chairman of Tiandingfeng Holding Co., Ltd., was elected as the chairman of the third council of the Geotechnical Building Materials Branch of the Association. Xing Jiedong of Guangdong Jinsui Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd., He Yong of Shanghai Yingfan Engineering Materials Co., Ltd., Zhang Baoli of Tai'an Jialutong Engineering Materials Co., Ltd., Chen Jie of Shandong Jiafu Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Chen Hui of Suzhou Huaxin Polymerization Network Technology Co., Ltd., and Guo Yonglian of Anhui Shengdian Web Weaving Co., Ltd. are branch directors. Nie Songlin was elected honorary president of the third council.

Xiang Feng, as the new president, said that on the basis of the progress made by the branch under the leadership of Cui Zhanming and Nie Songlin, the branch would continue to do the following work well: promote the high-quality development of the branch's work with high-quality party building, stick to the bottom line of industry quality, promote the transformation of industrial innovation achievements, strengthen the construction of standard system, and guide the digital transformation of enterprises, Organize enterprises to actively "go global" and expand new application markets.

At present, the international cooperation of the whole industry chain of China's textile industry is deepening, and foreign investment is developing steadily. According to incomplete statistics, the stock of foreign investment in China's textile industry exceeded 12 billion US dollars. However, the current ever-changing international situation and the complexity of the external environment objectively accelerate the process of internationalization layout of China's textile enterprises. At the meeting, Cui Xiaoling, trade policy commissioner of the International Trade Office of the China Textile Industry Federation, made a report on the "Trends and Prospects of Foreign Investment in China's Textile Industry". Facing the competition, cooperation and reconstruction of the global industrial chain supply chain, the report introduces the development, main situation and driving factors of China's textile industry's overseas investment and cooperation in recent years, focuses on analyzing the overseas comprehensive investment environment that enterprises pay attention to, and looks forward to the future development trend.

Li Guimei, head of the Middle Class Association, pointed out in her concluding speech that geotextiles for construction are one of the earliest and most mature fields of industrial textiles, which greatly supports the development and application of infrastructure and construction in China. In 2023, the processing volume of geotextiles and fibers for construction in China will reach 2.26 million tons, which has become the third largest category among the 16 categories of industrial textiles after medical and sanitary textiles and sail textiles. By participating in the "Belt and Road" construction, domestic geotextile enterprises have further expanded the international market, not only improving the international competitiveness of products, but also promoting the cooperation and development of the global industry. These highlights not only demonstrate the important role of the branch in promoting industry progress, but also lay a solid foundation for future development.
