To protect Kampuchea people's job opportunities, the Ministry of labour of Cambodia prohibits foreigners from engaging in the following 10 industries in Cambodia, including:

(1) drivers of various commercial vehicles, such as taxis, toddons, three wheeled motorcycles and truck drivers.

(two) doing business in public places on foot and using vehicles;

(3) massage in public places;

(four) hairdressers and beauticians;

(five) provide shoe shining service;

(six) tailor;

(seven) tire repair and car repair;

(eight) manufacture of Khmer souvenirs;

(nine) to create musical instruments and engraved Buddha statues;

(ten) engage in Goldsmith and jewelry processing.

The above policies were supported by the Kampuchea Association of small and medium enterprises. The association said that the ban gave Kampuchea an important guarantee for people engaged in these small industries to ensure that their income is not affected by outsiders' competition. In addition, this is also the result of the coordination between local associations and foreign chambers of commerce so as to enable Kampuchea people to get better job security rights.
